Youth classes

Fencing is an individual sport. Doing well or not depends on the fencer - what does the fencer know and how does he or she feel. Fencers learn self reliance, the value of working toward a goal, and the joy of individual success when it all comes together.

Our experience has been that those students who have the work habits to do well in fencing also do well academically.

Local fencers have done well at universities in the UC System including Berkeley, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, San Diego, as well as various Ivy League schools including Brown, Columbia, Penn, and other private schools such as Stanford, Duke, Northwestern, Marquette, and Temple.
